Do You Need a Rest Day?

Sherri _LarchRecently, I was lying in bed and it was raining outside. I was scheduled for a workout but I was having a hard time leaving my warm bed to head outside into the cold, wet day. As I lay there having a difficult time finding the motivation, I was asking myself if I was being lazy or if maybe, my body needed a day off. I like to start my day by revving my metabolism but I’m just like everyone else and some days I just don’t feel like it. I thought I’d share the tips I use to determine whether I’m being lazy or I need a day off.

Recovering After a Race

9e1cMzuEMTwNIOY9e4MLjXMYLZe5gditzRmHjkqbuUsWe had over 3000 runners and walkers recently completed the Vancouver USA Marathon & Half Marathon! Major kudos to Brian Davis and the team at Energy Events for producing such a world class event that has been recognized as one of the best in the country and attracts people from all over the world! Because there are so many races like this going on throughout the country right now….I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to discuss how to recover quickly after a challenging physical endeavor!

Prevention

The best way to treat extreme muscle soreness is to prevent it in the first place. So if you are super stiff, you may not have put in enough training to manage the effort effectively.
